Clinical Contracts Manager

Global Clinical Development Contracts Manager
Company/Position Description
Our client is an oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company.
This individual will partner with the Global Clinical Development teams to assist in contract negotiations of vendor, investigator sponsor trial agreements and consulting agreements ensuring that contract execution does not hamper timelines. He/she will work with finance to ensure purchase orders are created for executed agreements to allow for appropriate tracking of expense and on-time payments. This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Broad interaction with Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Biostatistics, Clinical Pharmacology, Product Value, Legal, Finance, external service providers and investigator site personnel.
Proposes potential vendors, ensures Contract Owner/Teams clearly define the specifications of work required from the vendor and develops request for proposal (RFPs). Creates proposal comparison documents to ensure the vendors' proposals are analyzed in a fashion where the Teams have the right information to make the optimal choice in vendor selection.
Negotiates contract terms and conditions using fall back language and in collaboration with the Legal Department, functional teams, and vendors. Ensures the scope of work is clear and comprehensive. Negotiates costs with the vendor and ensures pricing is reasonable. Develops and ensures contract payment schedules financially protect company and promote work progress.
Identify business issues in negotiations and advises team to enable them to make judgment calls on such issues.
Develop, lead and implement strategic initiatives to simplify and improve contract administration process.
Partner with Sr. Director, Clinical Operational Analysis and applicable vendors to ensure study conduct is on track and quality/timeline metrics are met. This person will work to actively address or escalate (per quality standards) issues as they arise.
Ensure assigned trials and associated spend are entered into the purchase order system.
Submits contracts in a contract management application for approval and manages contract approval according to company's Contract Approval Policy. Communicates company's Contract Approval Policy and Vendor Selection Policy to promote contract compliance.
Maintain required information in established tracking systems and shared drives to ensure transparency of contract status and business continuity.

Willingness to work collaboratively by incorporating diverse perspectives and appropriately managing relationships in order to strength decision-making.

Entrepreneurial, enjoys working in a fast-paced, small-company environment.
Understanding of contract development, negotiation, execution and management.
Knowledge of clinical development process preferred.
Job Requirements
Degree with 4-6+ years related experience Pharma/CRO experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Proficient computer knowledge including Word and Excel.
Requires moderate degree of complexity at times resulting from overlapping deadlines by providing support to multiple project managers.
Work onsite 5 days/week.
